Privacy Policy

How Global Rauniyar Society collects, uses, and protects your information on this website and in the GRS mobile app.

Last updated: September 18, 2026

Global Rauniyar Society ("GRS", "we", "us", "our") operates this website and the "GRS App" for Android, which displays the same website content inside the app. This policy explains what information we collect through the site and app, why we collect it, how it is stored, and the choices you have. By using this website or the GRS App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

Global Rauniyar Society is a community organization that connects Rauniyar families worldwide through culture, welfare, membership, and mutual support programs. We are not a commercial company, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information you choose to give us by filling out a form on the website (the same forms are shown inside the GRS App, since the app is a wrapper around the website). Depending on which form you use, this may include:

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information such as passwords, card numbers, or government ID numbers through any of these forms.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit only to operate the community services you're asking for — for example, to record a donation, list your business on GRS Marketplace, process a membership or registration request, publish a matrimony biodata, or respond to a message you sent us. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

4. Where Your Information Is Stored

Form submissions are stored in Google Sheets, accessed through Google Apps Script, and are only accessible to authorized GRS administrators. We do not use third-party advertising networks or analytics SDKs inside the GRS App.

5. The GRS Mobile App

The GRS App for Android is a lightweight wrapper (a WebView) around this same website — it shows the same pages and uses the same forms described above. The app itself does not separately collect device identifiers, location, contacts, or any other data beyond what standard Android WebView browsing involves, and it requests no special device permissions beyond internet access.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only: (a) with GRS committee members/admins who need it to operate the relevant program (e.g. verifying a donation or membership), (b) where content you submit is inherently public by design (for example, a published matrimony biodata, a GRS Marketplace listing, or a members directory entry), or (c) where required by law.

7. Data Retention

We keep submitted information for as long as needed to provide the relevant service (for example, an active membership or an ongoing matrimony listing) or as reasonably required for our community records. You can ask us to update or delete your information at any time — see "Your Choices" below.

8. Your Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you've submitted to us, or ask us not to publish something you previously agreed to make public (such as a biodata or marketplace listing), by contacting us at the details below.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults and families managing their own information. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

10. Security

We restrict access to submitted information to authorized GRS administrators and rely on Google's account-level access controls for the sheets/scripts that store it. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as GRS programs evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change.
